The phrase “all men are created equal” was written in elegant script, but it was built on blood. While those words were being signed into history, human beings were shackled, sold, and whipped nearby. Equality was never the goal—it was a performance. This lie was written into textbooks, laws, and sermons until the world forgot it was fiction. And with that lie, entire systems of injustice were born.

Slavery wasn’t just forced labour. It was policy. It was planned. It was perfected. People were beaten, branded, and broken as a way to train the next generation of obedience. Cruelty wasn’t a side effect—it was the system. The enslaved were denied their names, their families, and even the right to look someone in the eye. They weren’t just forced to work. They were taught they didn’t matter.

If the divine looked like the oppressor, then the system had spiritual approval. That image still hangs in homes, schools, and churches today.

The stories passed down to generations were carefully cleaned. Slavery became a chapter, not the foundation of the nation. Pain was made invisible. Heroes were celebrated while their victims were erased. But healing doesn’t come from forgetting—it comes from remembering honestly.
Truth Doesn’t Harm, It Heals
This story isn’t told to blame. It’s said to open eyes. The past can’t be changed, but the future can be written differently. When we stop defending lies and start honouring the truth, we don’t destroy what’s sacred—we finally make it real.
